Tender description

NWG are looking for expressions of interest to join our framework for water network works and services in the Northumbrian Water (NW) Operating Area. The requirement will be split in 3 lots: Lot 1 covering the repair and maintenance of the water distribution network; Lot 2 covering the backfill and first time permanent reinstatement of excavations for NW's repair and maintenance work on the water network; Lot 3 covering consequential damage reinstatement. Please note that it is likely TUPE will apply to some lots. Please see the additional information in Section VI.3) to find out how to express an interest. NWG are looking for expressions of interest for a supplier of water network repair and maintenance services in its Northumbrian Water Operating Area in the North East of England. NWG are looking for the provision of labour gangs (2 man gang complete with Van and tools) to support the repair and maintenance works on the water distribution network. It is envisaged NWG would require 2-3 gangs at any point but any requirement for gangs would be dependent on demand. All materials will be provided free issue by NWG. NWG will provide supervision for the gangs provided. The work will be split into 2 areas: 1) Tyne and Northumberland; and 2) Wear and Tees. Suppliers can express an interest in work in both areas or just one. It is estimated that the value of works will be circa 300 000 GBP per annum however no guarantee of work is provided. The works to be carried out under this contract comprise of the backfill and first time permanent reinstatement of excavations for Northumbrian Water’s repair and maintenance work stream in the North East of England. The Northumbrian Water Operating area will be split into 2 areas: 1) Tyne and Northumberland; and 2) Wear and Tees, with suppliers able to express an interest for either area or both. The supplier is expected to provide all materials for use under this lot and waste (spoil) will be the responsibility of the supplier. It is estimated that the annual value under this framework will be circa 1 500 000 GBP but there is no guarantee of any work under this framework. A framework is to be established for consequential damage which occurs due to major pipe bursts causing significant damage in the immediate area of the water asset failure. This will include the backfill and permanent reinstatement of areas such as highways and carriageways. This will be a select list only and then quotations will be sort for each job from the suppliers who are awarded a place on the list (unless works are urgent and price maybe negotiated directly with one supplier). The estimate annual value of this work is 360 000 GBP per annum but there is no guarantee of volume under this framework.
