Tender description

The Ministry of Defence has outlined a requirement for a replacement Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET). These will form an integral part of the MDL25 logistics vehicle programme. In due course MDL25 will provide the next generation of land materiel lift, bulk liquids and equipment transport deployable capability. The authority has been tasked with exploring the acquisition, support, and through-life service options for the HET capability. As part of an options analysis, the authority is inviting industry to participate in a Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) survey in support of developing our acquisition strategy. Specifically, the authority seeks information from industry for the following reasons: (i) establish the current market capability to deliver the authority’s requirements; (ii) inform the acquisition strategy of the commercial off the shelf (COTS) or military off the shelf (MOTS) options; (iii) understanding the costings for the capability; (iv) appraise production and delivery timescales to the authority’s deadlines; (v) explore the potential for future integration of new technologies as they become available.
