Tender description

The NHS Shared Services Partnership hosted by Velindre are acting on behalf of the Cardiff and Vale University local Health Board who require specific revalidation of the temperature monitoring system. The Health Board previously invested in this equipment supplied by Rees Scientific. In order to meet ISO 15189:2012 accreditation and MHRS regulatory requirements, additional probes and a higher level of calibration are required for the existing temperature monitoring system, provided by a supplier accredited to ISO 17025 standards. Rees Scientific are the incumbent provider of the existing temperature probes and use a different company to maintain and calibrate would invalidate the warranty of the equipment. In addition, Rees Scientific are provision additional probes which can only work on their IT systems, using another manufacturer would necessitate the purchase of a whole new system. THE UHB seeks to award a 3-year contract directly with Rees Scientific to provide necessary and accredited calibration of the temperature monitoring system and supply of additional probes.
