Tender description
NHSBT currently evaluate Hb levels of all donors immediately before each donation. Donors are initially tested using a capillary blood sample and copper sulphate solution. If a donor fails this test a second, venous blood sample is taken and tested quantitatively in a HemoCue 301. A review of the current testing arrangements has shown that the current process is the most effective both in terms of donor safety, sufficiency and cost. NHSBT wish to set up an agreement for: — supply and maintenance of new quantitative Hb testing devices, — supply of consumables maintenance of current HemoCue 301 devices. NHSBT will be holding a supplier engagement day on the 4.2.2020 at a location and exact time slot to be confirmed by 28.1.2020.
