Trafford Council would like to invite providers to express their interest for the provision of Autism Short Breaks Background Previously in Trafford, a buddying scheme was provided for those children and young people with autism. When this contract came up for re-tender in 2017, unfortunately no providers bid for the service and short breaks were left with a gap of autism specific provision. Since then commissioning has been working with parents of those children and young people with autism to design an autism specific short break service. As the other short break services, this one will run alongside the academic school year beginning in September 2020.
