Grant - Zoo Support (COVID 19) itt_7049 This grant funding opportunity has been developed as a response to the animal welfare issues faced by zoos during the Covid-19 outbreak. The grant funding is not unlimited, and applications will be assessed by the Authority strictly on a first come first served basis. The Authority is looking to award grants for the Zoo Support Fund. Zoos’ incomes have been significantly reduced by social distancing rules. Zoos must continue to provide the service of caring for their animals and have ongoing costs fixed to cover animal keeping, feed, heating, security, etc. If these zoos are unable to rehome their animals, some zoos may have to resort to unplanned euthanasia of their animals. The purpose of this fund is to prevent zoos from having to make this decision during the Covid-19 crisis when few options are open to them. Only apply if your organisation meets the eligibility criteria to be considered for funding.
