Summary of the work Opportunity to build a testing environment and process for cloud based analytical platform Specialist role Quality assurance analyst Expected Contract Length up to 18 months Latest start date Monday 23 March 2020 Maximum Day Rate up to £525 per day, with a total approved budget up to £173.3k. Who Speclialist Work With The team is embedded with the Analytical community and serves other external departments, but all users are Analysts (Statisticians, Economists, Operational Researchers and Social Researchers). What Specialists Work On 1. Develop & document functional test procedures for new production builds for the analytical platform 2. Develop & document non-functional test of the analytical system. 3. Conduct User Acceptance testing of enhancements and new functionailty. Skills & Experience • Experience of developing functional tests within window & linux build environments- 12 points • Experience of developing non-functional for systems that are based on cloud (public and private) - 12 points • Experience of working with users to conduct user acceptance testing. - 12 points • Experience of working in cloud environment (both public and private) - 6 points • Experience of reporting results and recommendation to senior management - 6 points Nice to Haves • Experience of working with on-premise and cloud analytical tools such as PowerBi,SAS, SPSS and NHM - 6 points • Experience of working with government analyst, such as statisticians or economists - 6 point • Experience of working with BAU/Support team to help them improve process - 6 points Work Location Westminster, London. Which tools are being used for testing currently? Currently no automation tools being used. 5. Could you detail out technical landscape in terms of storage & analytical technologies used? No.We expect the tester not to be embedded to any analytical technologies. 6. Are you looking for a system tester with functional knowledge or a performance tester? We are looking for an all-round tester, capable of functional and performance testing 7. Is the latest date of 23/03/20 correct? We would like the the tester to start as soon as possible. The 23rd deadline is not set in stone but indicates our urgency. 8. Is there any testing involved related to commandline/shell scripting ?(Specific to Linux) The platform is a mixed environment, working on windows and linux. Testing will be required on both environments 9. For the functional testing are you anticipating manual, automation or a combination of both. If a combination what kind of split are you anticipating, what automation skills would you like to see? We expect the bulk of testing to be manual, automation when possible. 10. What cloud based analytic platform are you using and would like this person to have experience in We require a tester who is not bound a particular platform. 11.
