Tender description
Limerick City & County Council, supported by as Steering Group, intend to advance and implement a flood relief scheme for Limerick City & Environs. Limerick City & County Council intends to commission a consultancy team to develop and assist with the implementation of the Scheme. This Contract will be procured using one Consulting firm to progress both the Engineering and Environmental elements of the Tender Specification. The Project shall comprise of up to five stages, as set out below: - Stage I: Identification and Development of a Preferred Scheme - Stage II: Planning process - Stage III (Part 1): Detailed Construction Design - Stage III (Part 2): Compilation of Work Packages and the Preparation of Tenders for Contracts - Stage IV: Construction Supervision & Project Management Services - Stage V: Handover of Works - In carrying out the Project, the Consultant may refer to and, as appropriate, build upon the hydrological, hydraulic and other assessments carried out for Limerick City & Environs as part of the Shannon Upper & Lower River Basin (UoM25-26) CFRAM Study. The Consultant shall also be fully responsible for the selection, development and design of the Limerick City & Environs Scheme. The Scheme to be progressed will be agreed with the Steering Group, following a Cost Benefit Assessment and achievement of set Cost Benefit Ratios. The Consultant will be required to complete a geotechnical assessment of existing embankments and underlying ground conditions within the study area and this will contribute to the options developed for the preferred scheme. The Consultant will also be required to complete an assessment of the public realm opportunities within the study area including development of urban streetscape and active travel circulations routes within the city centre and linking to the surrounding city environs.
