Provision of Public Relations, Social Media, & General Media Consultancy Services on the Our Balbriggan Project

Fingal County Council seeks consultancy services to manage and develop the ‘Our Balbriggan’ brand across all platforms – Digital and Media. The historic town of Balbriggan is located on the northern edge of Fingal County. It is a coastal location, c. 32 km north of Dublin City. Balbriggan has experienced huge population growth in the early part of the 2000’s as a result of the demand for housing in the wider Dublin region with hundreds of homes being built. Census 2016 figures show that the population of Balbriggan has increased by 194% since 1991, in the same period Ireland’s population grew by 35%, and Fingal County’s by 94%. Balbriggan is the youngest large town in Ireland with residents having an average age of 30.8 years and with 30.5% of the population aged between 0 – 14. Balbriggan is also one of the most culturally diverse towns in Ireland with 28% of the town’s population born outside of Ireland. Balbriggan has a relatively weak local economy when compared to other fast-growing towns with a large cohort of the town commuting daily out of Balbriggan for work. The Council launched a significant public consultation and engagement with the residents of Balbriggan in November 2018 with over 4,000 residents engaging in the consultation process for the development of the Our Balbriggan Rejuvenation Plan, launched in May 2019.
