Tender description

The Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) is part of AHDB Pork Knowledge Exchange programme and seeks to demonstrate the value of Process Control (LEAN) principles to pig producers. The main programme will determine how a detailed and methodical analysis of a business can enable producers to identify waste in their production process and how adopting continuous improvement methodology can influence their success as a business through improving production efficiency and increasing profitability. AHDB Pork is currently seeking proposals for one professional supplier of LEAN management and training to work in partnership with the AHDB Pork Knowledge Exchange team. This programme will involve up to twelve (minimum of ten) pig businesses. The aim of this project is to identify if the use of LEAN Management concepts, such as process control and continuous improvement can increase production efficiency sufficiently to increase profitability and/or add value to the product (pork). It is mandatory that the training utilises the Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) apprenticeship as a framework.
