Tender description

The Base Package 5 of the Nanonis Control System combines exceptional signal quality and a flexible, powerful, and user friendly software interface making it the ideal choice for the most demanding SPM applications. Nanonis BP5: the standard for SPM control systems in its latest version. UCC wishes to award a contract for the purchase of this control system for integrated use within a quantum microscope uniquely designed by it's researcher to achieve atomic-scale visualisation of electronic quantum matter for research on advanced quantum materials. This specific control system allows for the successful operation and performance requirements of the quantum microscope instrument. The Nanonis BP5e is a computer and electronics control system for scanned quantum microscopes. It controls: (a) approach of the quantum microscope sensor to the quantum material to be studied; (b) scanning of the sensor across the crystal surface with picometer (10-12 m) accuracy and femtometer (10-15 m) stability in micron-scale fields of view; (c) energy resolution for each visualization image with accuracy stability and precision of 5 X 10-24 Joules or 30 eV; (d) multiple simultaneous experiments (visualizations) being carried out at each sensor location; (e) massively parallel data acquisition and recording from these simultaneous experiments (visualizations); (f) real time control and data analysis interface for all the above operations.
