Devon Partnership NHS Trust is launching a formal process to secure an additional 16 adult acute psychiatric inpatient beds in Exeter. This prior information notice is being used to inform the market of the upcoming tender opportunity and ask interested parties to complete a market engagement questionnaire to inform the final specification. The questionnaire can be accessed on the e-procurement system in-tend at: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/scwcsu/aspx/Home This market engagement stage is being undertaken to seek market views which will help inform the procurement process that will shortly be launched to secure an additional 16 adult acute psychiatric inpatient beds in Exeter. Any provider wishing to participate should complete and return the questionnaire. There is a national target as part of the Five Year Forward View (FYFV) to eliminate inappropriate out of area placements by 2020/2021. The procurement of additional inpatient capacity in Exeter is a fundamental part of the plan to achieve the FYFV target. The aim is to provide high quality holistic care in a safe and therapeutic setting for service users in the most acute and vulnerable state of their illness and who cannot be managed at home with the involvement of the Home Treatment Team. This will be provided in collaboration with service user, carers, statutory and non-statutory organisations in order to ensure that admissions and inpatient episodes are timely and appropriate. This market engagement stage and procurement is being carried out by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of Devon Partnership NHS Trust.
