Tender to engage Full, Integrated Design Team Services for 33no. housing units and ancillary works at Canal Avenue, Mullingar, County Westmeath

Tender description

It is proposed to provide 33no. housing units on a 0.426 ha site in Mullingar, County Westmeath. The site is in the ownership of Westmeath County Council. It is bounded to the North by the Royal Canal, to the South by a three-storey apartment building, to the West by the Brosna River and to the East by existing residential development. The site is generally approximately 5 metres below the canal towpath therefore the lower units have a single, south-facing orientation. The building heights range from single-storey to five-storey with a retaining wall to be constructed to the north and eastern boundary of the site. The project includes the demolition of two existing derelict dwellings, the construction of a river crossing/culvert over the River Brosna and the removal of Japanese knotweed. Westmeath County Council intend to prepare design drawings up to Part 8 (Planning Standard). The integrated design team will be engaged to provide civil and structural engineering services and Quantity Surveying Services in order to submit a Stage 2 Application as per Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government four stage process. Thereafter, the full Integrated design team will take the project from Part 8 to completion including Architectural Services, Civil and Structural Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Employer’s Representative, Assigned Certifier and Project Supervisor Design Process.
