Notice of abandonment of procurement. In accordance with Regulation 55 (1) Public Contracts Regulations 2015 we advise you that we no longer intend to continue with this competitive procurement process commenced by the OJEU Notice dispatched on 16 December 2019 under reference 2019/S 242-594809 for the above contract for the following reasons: We are unable to award a contract based on the bids received as this would result in an unacceptable budget pressure being placed on the service. We now need to review our documentation and strategy and explore alternative, innovative ways of delivery taking into account the Governments new agenda on recycling waste. We will contact all parties who participated in this process when our review is complete and a way forward is established. Derby City Council ('the Council') procured for a new contract for the processing of dry mixed recyclables (DMR). The Council required a contractor to provide a Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) for the receipt and processing of DMR, and associated services such as marketing of the output materials.
