Tender description

The proposed school extension will have a great impact on the existing school services, since the existing boiler house needs to be demolished, the water tank capacity is insufficient, electrical load is increasing and setting down and parking areas need to be reconfigured. To allow for the school extension, essential preparatory works will have to be done prior to main works. Therefore, the subject of this tender are essential preparatory works, including demolition works, alteration works in the existing school and all associated site works. Tenderers must sign the "DoES Suitability Declaration for Small Works" available at www.education.ie under School Building & Design > Procedures and Cost Plans (Design Team procedures), and if requested to do so must provide the necessary evidence of compliance stated in that document within 7 days, including evidence of annual turnover greater than 1.5 times the sum tendered, and Health & Safety competence. The Contract is intended to be awarded to a single main contractor. If a group of contractors apply as a group or joint venture and are successful, either a lead contractor must be nominated who will be responsible for providing the service or a Joint Venture must be formed with whom the Awarding Authority will sign the contract.
