Tender description

The University of Derby has identified a need to create a new Business School to provide a home for the College of Business Law and Social Sciences (CBLSS). The preferred site is an existing area of land, already within the University ownership, at Agard Street in Derby. This site sits opposite the University's One Friargate Square building, and is adjacent to the existing Sir Peter Hilton Court Halls of Residence; it has been identified within the University's emerging Estate Strategy 2020-2025 as a site of strategic importance. Delivery of the proposed Business School is critical to the on-going success of the University - in part due to the potential expansion of the CBLSS offering, but also to unlock development potential at other key sites by allowing the transfer of teaching to the new building. The Governing Council of the University has agreed to the development of project up to and including RIBA Stage 3 (Developed Design). The increase in value of this Contract is due to the recent change in scope of the Project.
