Tender description

This is a voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice. This notice is to indicate that Network Rail intends to contract with Elektrotechnische werke fritz Driescher and söhne gmbh, Morris Line Engineering and SDCEM, for the purchase of 25 kV AC disconnector motor mechanisms and remote securing modules to be retrofitted onto existing devices on the UK railway network. Network Rail seeks to retrofit remote securing capability onto existing 25 kV AC disconnector systems already fitted across the network. This activity is essential to protect safety of trackside workers. These items must be sourced from OEM to ensure compatibility and to protect existing warranty for the disconnectors. It is Network Rail's intention to operate a full tender for disconnectors with remote securing technology after this STA as an open competition, contracts will be awarded subject to suppliers receiving product approval.
