Tender description

Interim contract for the provisions of Welfare Rights and Housing Advice. The current contract expires on 24 June 2020. The current Contract expires on 24 June 2020. All attempts have been made by the contracting authority to procure a new contract. However, due to COVID-19 organisations tendering for this kind of contract are heavily involved in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic issues advising the vulnerable residents. With the landscape for these services changing at a rapid rate and having sought tenderers views, on the Kent Business Portal, on whether they will be able to tender for the contract opportunity and provide the services as outlined this seems to be unlikely to be the case as of 25 June 2020. The contracting authority has, after careful consideration, decided to enter into an interim contract with the current contractor in order to ensure that the vulnerable residents in need of the services will continue to receive it throughout the COVID-19 pandemic including a period where the COVID-19 pandemic issues persist. It is the contracting authority’s intention to start a new procurement process as soon as the full impact of COVID-19 is known to the contracting authority enabling it to procure services as required at that time. This interim contract shall be for the period of 1 year commencing on 25 June 2020 expiring on 24 June 2021.
