Tender description

The NHS Commissioning Board, (operating under the name of NHS England and NHS Improvement) looks to establish an NHS framework agreement (on behalf of NHS Trusts) for the supply of drugs licensed specifically to target epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-expressing, RAS wild-type metastatic colorectal cancer. The NHS spends circa GBP 16 billion a year on medicines. Driving better value from medicines spend is central to ensuring financial sustainability. To support these ambitions, the authority has embarked on a Medicines Value Programme (‘MVP’) to deliver better value and improved outcomes from its investments in medicines. Cancer is one of the largest categories within the overall specialised commissioning medicines portfolio, with a total medicine spend estimated at GBP 2 billion per annum. This procurement focuses on Colorectal and specifically on the treatment of epidermal growth factor receptor (‘EGFR’)-expressing, RAS wild-type metastatic colorectal cancer in adults. The purpose of this prior information notice (PIN) is to invite all interested parties to a briefing session to discuss the tender requirements and timescales involved. It is also to fully engage with the supply market and to receive any feedback, prior to the launch of the invitation to tender, which is due to be released at the end of April. A briefing session will be arranged week commencing 6th April where all registered parties will be invited to attend. NHS England intends to use its eTendering system once the tender goes live. A contract notice will be issued to alert suppliers when the tender goes live.
