‘This tender requirement was abandoned prior to a Contract award decision.’ The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), a component Research Council of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) wishes to procure a cryogen free cooling system to stably control the temperature of a laser system amplifier head. ‘This tender requirement was abandoned prior to a Contract award decision.’ The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), a component Research Council of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), is a world-leading multi-disciplinary science organisation, whose goal is to deliver economic, societal, scientific and international benefits to the UK and its people – and more broadly to the world. STFC wishes to procure a cryogen free cooling system to stably control the temperature of a laser system amplifier head whilst extracting the heat load generated by the pump lasers. The scope of the contract is a prototype and design for the production unit, with a contractual option to then purchase the production system if the contracting authority so wishes. The contract will cover design, manufacture and delivery of the system. The total estimated value listed encompasses both the confirmed purchase of prototype + production design, and the option of procuring the production system.
