Halton Borough Council is proud to offer a real opportunity for an experienced and suitably qualified provider to deliver a support service to young people when they go missing from home or care across Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester and Halton. The Children and Young People Safeguarding Partnership Boards of Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester and Halton with Cheshire Constabulary, have collaborated to produce a Pan Cheshire Joint Protocol and Strategy for Children and Young People who run away or go missing from home or care. The joint protocol seeks to identify and manage the risks and ensure a consistency in approach across borders and agencies. The service will work across all of the footprint of the three local authority areas with clear links with Cheshire Constabulary’s missing from home coordinators to support young people who have been notified as missing from home or care. A coordinated and organised response including return interviews will facilitate direct intervention work with children, young people and their families. The service will ensure that they are working seamlessly with the local provision for responding to children who may be exploited and where appropriate be co-located with them.
