Tender description

The Council has a statutory duty to collect and arrange for the receipt and disposal of household waste and other waste arising within Bath and North East Somerset. This includes Wood Waste taken to its Recycling Centres and Transfer Stations. The Council is seeking to award a contract for the recycling of wood waste collected at its Recycling Centres and transfer station. The contract will commence on 1 June 2020 and continue for an initial term of 2 years with an option for the Council to extend the Contract for up to a further 1 year. This specification details the services to be provided by the contractor. The Council collects approximately 4 000 tonnes of mixed wood waste from its residents and local traders at its depots in Bath and North East Somerset. A treatment option is required which is able to recycle as much of the material as possible for onward use. The Council will directly deliver wood waste to the contractors treatment facility in bulk vehicles. A gate fee is required as part of this tender process for the receipt, treatment and onward marketing of wood waste. The contract rates and prices quoted shall remain valid for the term of the contract and shall not be subject to any form of indexation.
