Tender description

The in-service support and supply of coordinate measurement machines. The Air Commodities Project Team (The Authority) is seeking to place a contract for the continued support of Faro coordinate measuring machines. The intended duration of the contact is for 5 years with 2 one year options. It is the intention of the Authority to place a contract with Faro Technologies Ltd on a single source basis to meet this requirement. It is considered this contract can be placed using the negotiated procedure without prior publication pursuant to Directive 2009/81/EC article 28 (1) (e) (Regulation 16 (1) (a) (ii)) of UK Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011) for technical reasons. The Authority cannot provide fidelity of measurements for safety critical components without access to the supporting code. The Authority cannot obtain this as it is proprietary to Faro Technologies Ltd. Without it the Authority would fail military airworthiness requirements and therefore Faro Technologies Ltd is the only supplier able to deliver the requirement.
