Summary of the work The WebOps Engineer will work with the Digital Services team to provide support to existing services and infrastructure. VAT) and including all fees Early Market Engagement N/A Who Speclialist Work With Digital Services is a team of c. 60 digital professionals that design, develop and maintain NICE’s portfolio of digital services including the NICE website, Pathways and NICE Evidence Services. What Specialists Work On 1. Provide support and operational input to the existing WebOps team. 2. Provide support to developer and tester requests. 3. Work with the team to identify opportunites for automation and optimisation. 4. Provide documentation on configuration and changes. 5. Support the existing backlog. Skills & Experience • Experience with AWS. • Operational management of Windows servers, delivery a complex web application stack. • An understanding of application deployment strategies, continuous integration and version control. • Experience debugging a complex, multi-server service in a high availability environment. • Strong critical, analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Experience working within an Agile development environment. • Administering common databases like SQL Server, MySQL and MongoDB. Nice to Haves • Experience with Azure. • Experience with VMWare and VDI. • Operational management of Linux servers, delivering a complex web application stack. • Knowledge of Docker and Rancher. • Experience of CI/CD tools such as Octopus or Jenkins. Work Location National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Level 1A, City Tower Piccadilly Plaza Manchester M1 4BT Working Arrangments Based onsite in our Manchester office. We would consider a maximum of 1 day a week working from home and 4 days in the office. Security Clearance N/A Additional T&Cs Additional clause will be added to govern using the NICE servers and not allowing any data on personal laptops/equipment. Our pre-engagement test performed on the HMRC employment tool is indicating that this is outside of IR35. However, HMRC have recently updated this test and certain questions can only be answered once we are in contract with an individual as they are about the Worker themselves. Therefore the test will need to be re-run at that point. NICE cannot take any responsibility should the test result differ from the pre-engagement test. 2. Could you confirm if there is an incumbent in place please? No, this is a new requirement 3. Fee change NICE has reviewed the budget allocated to this contract and has agreed to raise the daily rate up to £550 per day depending on experience. 4. Would you consider remote working or based in your London office? We can allow 1 day remote working, the other 4 days must be based in our Manchester office.
