Tender description
The Council is the Statutory Harbour Authority for the municipal Port of Workington, Cumbria and is seeking to establish a contract for the provision of targeted maintenance dredging works. The standard annual maintenance dredging is normally executed by modern Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger(s) supplemented by plough / bed leveller. Maintenance dredging is required to restore depths in parts of the Turning Basin, River Derwent Catch Pit and other areas that are difficult to access by a normal TSHD, in the Port of Workington, Cumbria. For most dredging plant the work is tidal (Dredge level is approximately –1.8m CD) and is, in general, anticipated to be undertaken by mechanical dredging plant. Keywords: dredging
