Tender description

UK Shared Business Services Ltd acting on behalf of the contracting authority have put in place a contract for the installation of a new HV Supply and Substation. This requirement will be set out in two phases. Phase 1 will be the substation 45 and phase 2 will be the substation nine panel extension. Phase 1: Substation 45. Breakdown of works: — carry out soil resistivity study and provide subsequent earthing design; — carry out ground penetrating radar of proposed cable route and substation location to determine presence of other services in the area; — produce protection settings for new installation, which will account for protection relays upstream of the new substation location (site protection study provided by client); — establish site setup for materials, waste, herras fencing etc; — civil contractor to excavate approx. 180 m trench suitable for 11kv cable, including 1x road crossing, and direct lay 11 kV 3c 185 mm2 XLPE cable. The exact location of the route is to be confirmed. (Provisional route shown as per Appendix 1); — civil contractor to install both LV and HV earth mat as per earthing design; — civil contractor to create new substation compound, complete with plinths, fencing etc; — procure 1 000 kVA, 11 000 v/415 v KNAN TX with close coupled RN2D with VIP. Protection and standard LV box as per Appendix 2. — isolate RSW within SS 35 and issue PTW for all jointing works; — commission new installation; — Produce O&M Manual for new installation. Phase 2 :substation nine panel extension. breakdown of works: — carry out ground penetrating radar of proposed cable route and substation location to determine presence of other services in the area; — civil contractor to excavate approx. 210 m trench suitable for 11 kv cable, including dig and lay within the road and install 11 kV 3c 185 mm2 XLPE cable; — procure and install 630A Genie Evo Panel with suitable protection relay. Specification of panel to be agreed; — commission/test new cable and 11 kV panel; — update site records and drawings as required.
