Tender description
The Health Research Board (HRB) is a state agency that supports research and provides evidence to prevent illness, improve health and transform patient care. The HRB has 61 staff. Our annual budget is in excess of €45m and we manage a research investment portfolio of approximately €200m. The agency is funded mainly by the Department of Health, and Board members are appointed by the Minister for Health. The HRB are looking to engage an entity to provide a suitably qualified Project Officer for a 15-month engagement which will finish on the 30th June 2021. Tenderers must demonstrate that they are currently licensed to operate as an Employment Agency in accordance with the Employment Act 1971 or that they can secure such a license by the scheduled commencement date of the contract. It will be a condition of award of the Contract that the tenderer can provide evidence that it is a licensed employment Agency The successful candidate will be working on the following portfolio: The Clinical Infrastructure, Interventions and Networks portfolio within the Post-Award and Evaluation team, encompasses some of the HRB’s largest funding investments. This portfolio contains several complex large-scale awards, including the Clinical Research Facilities, HRB-Clinical Research Coordination Ireland, Clinical Trials Networks (including Cancer Trials Ireland), the Trials Methodology Research Network, Irish Research Nurses Network, JPND-HDHL Policy and Evaluation Network, Definitive Trials and Interventions Awards, support for public and patient involvement in clinical research (PPI Ignite and IPPOSI) and support award for HRCI. • A PhD in a relevant area; OR a Master’s degree with at least three year’s appropriate research / professional experience • Knowledge of research management, governance, funding, evaluation and policy issues • High degree of computer literacy, including knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and experience of databases
