Summary of the work The work will cover but not limited to: - - Support the design of Azure Data Platform Architecture to minimise ongoing revenue costs - Support the implementation of the new Azure Data Platform to defined policy and design - Supporting the above implementation through any required app development Specialist role Business analyst Expected Contract Length Up to 2 years Latest start date Monday 2 March 2020 Maximum Day Rate £400 per 7.5 hour day (Including Travel and Subsistence) Who Speclialist Work With Consisters of 14 members of technical staff at varying levels of skill and seniority What Specialists Work On Current Business Intelligence data platform is based on old technology which doesn’t facilitate the consumption and processing of big data. The work will cover but not limited to - Support the design of Azure Data Platform Architecture to minimise ongoing revenue costs - Support the implementation of the new Azure Data Platform to defined policy and design - Supporting the above implementation through any required app development Skills & Experience • Comprehensive understand of the Azure platform is required to ensure minimisation of on-going revenue costs • High and low level architectural design of a modern data platform • Working knowledge of networking and infrastructure to support discussions with supporting Digital functions • Broader experience \ knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform • Competency in the development of PowerShell and general business application development • Experience of full software development life cycle in the context of data warehousing • Knowledge of Continues Deployment and Continuous Integration in the context of data warehousing Work Location Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust Turnpike House (and Remotely) 631 Eccles New Road, Salford, Greater Manchester, M50 1SW Working Arrangments Working arrangements to be confirmed Security Clearance N/A No. of Specialists to Evaluate 3 Cultural Fit Criteria • Proven experience in last 3-years of an open/collaborative working relationship at all levels with excellent communication and co-ordination skills when conducting daily stand-ups, team meetings, presentation and demonstrations • Forward looking organisation with continual development to keep up with changing ICT landscape • Has a no-blame culture and encourages people to learn from their mistakes, working as • Suppliers must demonstrate an ability and willingness to work collaboratively within a multi-vendor delivery environment • Able to communicate effectively with users, technical architects and solve issues with complex integrations Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 40% Cultural fit 20% Price 40% Questions from Suppliers 1. Q1. Is the role Inside or Outside IR35? A1. The role is outside of IR35 2. Q2. Is there a current incumbent? Do you have a person/consultancy already in mind for this role? A2. We do have fixed term resources supporting various programmes of work. This is an open tender and all submissions will be reviewed on their merit 3. Q3. Is the day rate of £400 exclusive of agency rate or is it an all in price? A3. It is an 'all in' price 4. Q4. What will be the minimum length for the contract please?Our specialist's interest lies on the basis that this will be a 2 year role for certain. A4. The contract is for 24 months. The resource demand over the period will fluctuate dependant on demand but will not exceed 1 person at any given time. 5. Q5. Does the specialist need NHS experience? A5. Does not need NHS Experience but it is desirable 6. Q6. Is there an incumbent supplier providing this specific resource currently? A6. Yes, the Trust has a supplier providing BI Azure Consultancy on a short term basis 7. Q7. Is remote working an option? A7. Remote working is possible but there is also be a requirement to be on site. 8. Q8. In response to Q6, you have stated "Yes, the Trust has a supplier providing BI Azure Consultancy on a short term basis". Could you clarify what you mean by this? E.g. Are they short term and expecting to be replaced by the winning supplier here or are they likely to also be bidding for the work too? A8. The current supplier’s contract ends on the 28th February. We are not aware of the current suppliers intent to bid for the work. 9. Q9. Is it possible to share the current data platform architecture, tools and technologies being used currently? A9. The current platform is a standard on-premise datawarehouse SQL Stack architecture. Using a combination of SSIS and stored procedure to process data 10. Q10. "...Azure platform is required to ensure minimisation of on-going revenue costs". Does this refer to whole Azure cost like VM, Storage etc. or just BI/Data-Platform specific? A10. Just BI/Data Platform specific. There may be the requirement to use VM’s for certain services but this will be determined with the detailed design
