Tender description

AHDB needs to audit members in the United Kingdom selling quality scheme lamb and beef labelled as English and/or British, covered by an approved group voluntary beef labelling scheme under Regulation (EC) 1760/2000. AHDB are looking to continue the service of auditing of the supply chain to EN45011 standards, covering activities in the beef and lamb supply chain including abattoirs, cutting plants, wholesalers, butchers and foodservice outlets. Assurance schemes accepted are those listed under the assured food standards red tractor scheme or equivalent. Scheme membership follows from an initial declaration by the applicant that it currently meets the standards. This must be based, with the exception of retail and foodservice outlets, on its existing membership of AHDB approved assurance schemes, which are independently audited at AHDB expense. Membership based on such declarations is confirmed by the QSM Administrator (external service provider) and followed by verification of compliance after auditing visits that are the subject of this tender. The QSM Administrator works alongside the QSM audit supplier and both report to AHDB’s Senior Manager Quality Schemes. The QSM Administrator assists to arrange timelines for audit, produces and dispatches certificates upon receipt of finalised audit report, runs the QSM member hotline, QSM member database in addition to producing and dispatching QSM member materials.
