LoKI is a SANS instrument that will enable scientists to answer the challenging materials science questions of tomorrow in fields from health and aging, to sustainability and energy security. One of the first instrument concepts to be proposed and moved into construction, LoKI will be part of the early science programme at ESS. This is a requirement for the design and manufacture of a rectangular vacuum vessel for use on the Loki ESS beamline to be delivered to UKRI — STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Didcot, UK. This requirement is for the design, manufacture and testing of a vacuum vessel for the collimation system designed for LOKI. LOKI is a SANS instrument that will enable scientists to answer the challenging materials science questions of tomorrow in fields from health and aging, to sustainability and energy security. One of the first instrument concepts to be proposed and moved into construction, LOKI will be part of the early science programme at The European Spallation Source (ESS). STFC are supplying the LOKI beamline to the ESS as a UK in kind contribution. LOKI will be designed and prebuilt by UKRI — STFC. Once completed, UKRI — STFC will ship it to the ESS site for installation. Once LOKI is installed it will be supported by ESS operation staff for the lifetime of the beamline. Included within the scope of work is the design of the rectangular vacuum vessel, for use on the LOKI ESS beamline along with all sourcing, manufacturing and assembly activities associated. The requirement includes defining, implementing and documenting the results of, the quality control and assurance plan, providing all required documentation and delivery of the vacuum vessel assembly to the ISIS neutron facility in Didcot, Oxfordshire along with all packaging and handling activities associated with this delivery. All submissions will be assessed in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, for procurement values that exceed Regulation 5 (Threshold amounts). This procurement will be managed electronically via the Crown Commercial Service’s eSourcing Suite. To participate in this procurement, participants shall first be registered on the eSourcing Suite.
