Alternative (Education) Provision - Market Engagement

The County Council is looking to develop a commissioning approach to Alternative Provision and the prevention of exclusion in schools. We are therefore looking for views from a wide range of stakeholders. Contained within the link is our survey for providers of Alternative Provision. It is now open until 24th January 2020. Alternative Provision (AP) is: ‘education arranged by local authorities for pupils who, because of exclusion, illness or other reasons, would not otherwise receive suitable education; education arranged by schools for pupils on a fixed period exclusion; and pupils being directed by schools to off-site provision to improve their behaviour.’ (Alternative Provision, Statutory guidance for local authorities, Department for Education).
