Tender description

Support and maintenance to the EOST equipment. The Chinook Project Team as part of the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence (The Authority) intends to award a contract to Leonardo MW Ltd (Leonardo) for the delivery of continual support to the UK Chinook fleet’s existing Electro Optical Sensor Turret (EOST) system, with an approximate value of 3 600 000 GBP over a 3-year period. It is considered that this contract can be placed directly with Leonardo using the negotiated procedure without prior publication pursuant to Article 28(1)(e) of Directive 2009/81/EC (Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the EU Defence and Security Public Contract Regulations 2011) for technical reasons. Leonardo MW Ltd, previously Selex ES Ltd, DRS Technologies UK Ltd, is the Titan 385ES Turret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and appointed Design Organisation (DO). Consequently, Leonardo is the only supplier with the relevant technical skills, engineering know-how, tools, technical data, drawing and design information which is required to deliver this requirement.
