Tender description

Provision of a Community Pain Management Service (CPMS) to the Bassetlaw Area The key outcomes of the service will be: — to ensure quantifiable improvements in the patient’s perception of their pain, — enable patients to self-manage their condition and to evidence this, — to reduce the number of new pain management referrals to secondary care, — to ensure adherence to the local Procedures of Ltd Clinical Value (PLCV) policy, — to define a structured approach to the use of therapies in line with latest guidance and the Commissioners Procedures of Ltd Clinical Value Policy. Provide an approach to ongoing treatment which is based on measureable, progressive patient outcomes, — a reduction in the use of medication for pain management where appropriate and where medication is necessary, ensuring that prescribing/recommendations are evidence-based, cost-effective and in line with the CCG’s pain management guidelines/formulary, — provide accessible treatment closer to home preventing unnecessary travelling, — reduce sickness absence from paid work (owing to a decrease in physical and/or emotional disability caused by chronic pain), — a positive outcome in their physical, psychological and/or social needs, — an increase in individual`s self-reported levels of physical and social functioning in society.
