Tender description

Non-exclusive Framework Agreement for the supply to the NHS Supply Chain customer base via the non-direct routes of stock, blue diamond and e-direct. Product range to include, but not limited to: — wound drainage products, — post-operative autologous blood system products, — intra-operative autologous blood systems products, and — intra-operative autologous blood systems products via capital lease agreements. Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of 8 000 000 GBP in the first year of this Framework Agreement, however this is approximate only and may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement. NHS Supply Chain is currently considering the use of lots for this procurement. However, it reserves the right not to as part of any future tender process. Further information in respect of the lot strategy will be set out in the notice for the forthcoming procurement. Products that are within scope of this lot shall include, but shall not be limited to, products used in connection with the following types of products and systems: — low vacuum wound drainage systems and products, — high vacuum wound drainage systems and products, — passive/gravity drainage systems and products, and — silicone drain systems and products. This lot includes, but is not limited to, all post-operative autologous (otherwise known as transfusion or auto-transfusion) blood system products, including such as kits and consumable products. These products provide safe post-operative drainage and reinfusion capabilities in one system. A post-operative autologous blood system is for recovering blood from a wound site after certain types of surgery e.g. orthopedic surgery including total knee and total hip replacements. The range of products that may be supplied under this lot includes all products that are used in connection with this type of post-operative medical procedure. The requirement is for intra-operative autologous blood system products used in the medical procedure that involves recovering blood lost during surgery and re-infusing blood, or blood products, into the patient. The range of products that can be supplied under this lot includes all products that are used in connection with this type of procedure including, but not limited to, intra-operative machines, collection reservoirs, reservoir holders, collection sets, aspiration and anti-coagulation lines, suction tips and tubing, waste bags, re-infusion bags, auto transfusion kits and wash sets. The lot requirements are for lease agreements of the intra-operative autologous blood system capital systems with leasing costs tied into the set usage of intra-operative autologous blood system capital equipment associated consumables. The requirement is for intra-operative autologous blood system products used in the medical procedure that involves recovering blood lost during surgery and re-infusing blood, or blood products, into the patient. The range of products that can be supplied under this lot includes all products that are used in connection with this type of procedure including, but not limited to, intra-operative machines, collection reservoirs, reservoir holders, collection sets, aspiration and anti-coagulation lines, suction tips and tubing, waste bags, re-infusion bags, auto transfusion kits and wash sets.
