Tender description

Homecare is a key care at-home support service which assists people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to continue to live independently in their own home for as long as possible. It must maximise Service User independence, offer choice and control over how they receive support to meet their needs and outcomes. Service users with assessed eligible needs that will require the Services include older people, adults with mental ill health, adults with a learning disability, adults with a sensory impairment, adults with long term conditions, adults with a physical disability and other specific needs. The tendering opportunity is divided into eight (8) zones with each Lot representing a designated geographical area. A Tenderer can bid for all Lots but can only be awarded one Lot. To support the capacity of the Zone Contracts awarded, the Authority shall enter into Spot Contracts with a maximum of eight (8) Approved Providers on a call-off basis for the for the first two years. Provision of Homecare Services to Adults with Supports needs within the London Borough of Wandsworth. The tendering opportunity is divided into eight (8) zones, with each Lot representing a designated geographical area (a "Zone") within the Borough where the specified Services are to be provided. Zone 1 relates to the geographical area of Nightingale and Balham wards. The purpose of the Service is to assist the Service Users twenty-four (24) hours a day and seven (7) days a week to maintain their independence and offer choice and control as to how the Service User receives support to meet their personal needs. The Services may include helping with personal and domestic care and supporting the service users to access activities. There are a number of developmental aspects and phases to the Services and key to this will be for the Authority to work together with Providers to develop a workforce capable of supporting the service users to build their independence but also deliver personal care in a person-centred way. One of the key objectives for the Authority is to work with the Providers to transition the Service during the term of the Contract from the traditional ‘time and task’ model towards greater personalisation and a model which focuses on outcomes that matter to people.
