Tender description

The National Centre is tendering to commission the development of this new project to provide a training scheme for the care and education workforce (this can include practitioners in cylchoedd meithrin, playgroups, day nurseries, childminders and before/after school clubs). The National Centre seeks a tenderer, or partnership of tenderers, who wish to develop a project aimed at providing Welsh language training for the childcare and education sector workforce (which can include practitioners in Cylchoedd Meithrin, playgroups, day nurseries, childminders and out of school childcare clubs). The National Centre for Learning Welsh works closely with the education and childcare sector to help increase the workforce's Welsh language skills and to enable them to respond better to meet the requirements of the foundation phase and the new proposed Curriculum. The work is very relevant due to the intention to increase the childcare offer to 30 hours and the need therefore to plan provisions that can offer opportunities through the medium of Welsh for children. It is estimated that there are at least 20 000 workers in the non-maintained childcare and education sector.
