Tender description

The Northern Arc, Burgess Hill project comprises a mixed use development scheme (200 hectare greenfield site — to the North of Burgess Hill) to provide approximately 3 040 residential dwellings with supporting education, healthcare, community, employment and retail facilities. This work package is the first infrastructure Infrastructure Contract package to be let by Homes England and covers the detailed design and construction delivery of approximately 700 m of single carriageway link road with a corridor width ranging from 13 m to 19 m and a single span road bridge over an existing water course. The new link road will tie into Isaacs Lane to the west via a junction and to a continuation of the link road approximately 50 m east of the new bridge to the east (to be designed and constructed by others). This procurement requirement is based on an OJEU Restricted Procedure contract let for the procurement of a Design and Build Contractor via an NEC3 ECC Option A Design and Build contract. The works involve the design and construction delivery of a new link road (varying width and approximately 700 m in length) and the installation of a new associated road bridge over an existing watercourse. The works will include the detailed design of the scheme and the securing of all technical consents related to the approving authorities (not including planning).
