Summary of the work Working within the Infrastructure Product Group which consists of other DevOps Lead, DevOps engineers, team manager, and SecOps engineers. Support and maintain a cloud estate (AWS) and drive infrastructure optimisation and automation. Implement best practice and scripted management of cloud based networks and manage the on-premise termination points Specialist role Developer Expected Contract Length 12 Months with possibility of renewal Latest start date Wednesday 20 March 2019 Maximum Day Rate £875 per day (ex VAT) Who Speclialist Work With The Infrastructure Product Group team, which consists of other DevOps Lead, DevOps engineers, team manager, and SecOps engineers What Specialists Work On Working within the Infrastructure Product Group team, which consists of other DevOps Lead, DevOps engineers, team manager, and SecOps engineers. Support and maintain a cloud estate (AWS) and drive infrastructure optimisation and automation. Implement best practice and scripted management of cloud based networks (VPC, subnet, ELB, NACL, NATs, EIP, etc.), and manage the on-premise termination points. Help individuals, teams and managers be as effective as possible by embedding an agile culture. Skills & Experience • 3+ years proven RedHat Enterprise Linux experience, or RHCE certified RHEL7 - Provide specific examples • 3+ years proven experience supporting enterprise AWS environments. (Architect, Design, Provision, Setup Network Monitoring) • 1+ years hands on experience with Chef scripting - Provide specific examples • 2+ years proven experience as a network engineer within a cloud team - Reflected in work history • Proven experience of implementing and operating cloud networking best practices in relation; DirectConnect, Transit Gateways, NACLs, IDS/IPS, VPC, security groups) - Provide specific examples • Proven experience securing cloud networks - Provide specific example • 2+ years experience using dev tools (Git, Jenkins, Nexus) - Provide specific examples • Work history alignment to above criteria (CV to be submitted to the FCA upon request) - No response required. Nice to Haves • Amazon Web Services Certification • Experience with migrating to AWS cloud platform- Provide specific example • 2+ years experience using monitoring tools (Splunk, DataDog,Cloudcheckr) Work Location 12 Endeavour Square, Stratford, London E20 1JN Working Arrangments 5 days in the office. A week's on-call duties (rota based) will be paid an additional 6th day. Security Clearance SC cleared, or willing to undergo clearance procedure. Can the Authority please confirm the IR35 status of the role? The role will be outside IR35 2. Please can you confirm if this is the same position that was advertised on 18th Jan but not awarded as there were no suitable suppliers? If this is the same position, please an you provide details regarding in what area were they were unsuitable? Yes this for the same role. 3. Please provide feedback why no supplier was awarded the contract. This was because once all the criteria were taken into consideration which include Technical Skillset, Cultural Fit and Price, the candidates put forward did not meet the requirements. 4. Please provide feedback why no supplier was awarded the contract This is done to the previous suppliers if required, and will not be provided as part of this Q&A 5. Please can you be more specific regarding your response to question 3.Was there a particular technology that the candidates lacked generally? Why did the panel not award the contract to any supplier? The candidates need to meet/exceed all the requires to score strongly, and that was not the case in the previous publication. 6. In regards to the working arrangements, will the on call duties be able to be done from home or are individuals required to be in the office on the 6th day? The majority of the time the on-call will be work from home, but there may be a requirement to attend the off dependant on the callout. 7. The dev tools listed include Git, Jenkins and Nexus, out of these what is the FCA’s preferred tool? The FCA uses all 3. 8. From the first batch of candidates you received can you let me know what skills they were missing so we can ensure the next candidate we send is experienced with that specific technology. If you require specific feedback, then please contact the person involved in the recruitment last time around. 9. Can you confirm if there is any possibility for remote working 1-2 days per week? there is the possibility for 1 day per week, not 2, but only once the candidate is up to speed and not from the beginning. 10. Would the organisation consider 1 day a week remote working? As per point above. 11. Please can you provide some additional information regarding timescales, specifically when do you anticipate that shortlisting will take place, when do you plan for interviews to be held and when are you looking to award contracts? Interview will start from the 14th and last for 1 week, then an offer will be made.
