Older people day services to promote wellbeing and prevent the need for more costly health and social care intervention for older people aged 65 plus in Tower Hamlets by delivering a tailored service, including a programme of activities, to eligible residents of Tower Hamlets aged 65+. Provision of services with a capacity of 30 places a day, Monday to Friday, with a maximum capacity of 150 packages per week. Suitable premises must be provided by the successful bidder. A bidders’ event will be held on 15.3.2019 at the Town Hall, Mulberry Place, 5 Clove Crescent, London E14 2BG. Further details will be provided through the Portal nearer the date. Provision of services with a capacity of 30 places a day, Monday to Friday, with a maximum capacity of 150 packages per week. The Council seeks for a competent provider that helps to achieve our vision of providing a flexible day opportunities service that offer: — a varied programme of activities including activities within the community where appropriate, — support to help reduce social isolation, — support around health and wellbeing, — services accessible and inclusive to all users across a diversity of backgrounds, — increased participation and contribution to the community through volunteering including, where possible, service users. The longer term plans and future vision for older people's day opportunities services will involve designing and developing a new service model. The separate co-production programme will be running alongside current services for much of the duration of these contracts. The service provider will be expected to collaborate and engage with this programme. The length of the contract will be for 1-year and 9 months years with an option for a further 1-year extension (so potentially a total length of 3 years).
