Tender description

The LAA is looking to award face to face contracts to deliver face to face legal advice and representation in the Housing and Debt Categories of Law from 1.5.2019 in the following Procurement Areas: — Calderdale, — Doncaster, — Dorset, — East Riding of Yorkshire, — Portsmouth and Isle of Wight. The Legal Aid Agency (“LAA”) has identified the need to increase access to legal aid housing and debt services covering specific housing and debt procurement areas. Accordingly, it is inviting applicants to submit a tender to deliver services in: — Calderdale, — Doncaster, — Dorset, — East Riding of Yorkshire, — Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. The LAA is seeking to award Housing and Debt Face to Face Contracts to any applicant who meets the generic minimum requirements (set out at Paragraph 2.6) and the following housing and debt minimum requirements: — employs at least 1 FTE Supervisor who meets the housing and debt supervisor standard and meet the 1 supervisor to 4 caseworkers ratio at each office from which it is tendering to deliver housing and debt contract work, — each office in the procurement area from which the applicant is tendering to deliver housing and debt contract work must be a permanent presence, and — employs at least 1 PTE Authorised Litigator with experience of delivering housing and debt work. Where an organisation wishes to deliver housing and debt services but is not able to meet the Permanent Present Office requirement set out above, it may still submit a tender. In that tender it must detail how it intends to deliver services within the relevant procurement area either where it intends to meet the part time presence requirements or through delivering outreach services.
