As one of the largest acute NHS Providers in the country, NUH deliver a vast portfolio of clinical services including those commissioned by local CCG’s and NHS England. Our Trust Strategy, Commercial and Business Development Plan and private patient plan all outline our ambition to grow private patient services as a priority for NUH and we are focussed on securing a partner(s) in order to fully maximise the opportunities available and to share value equally. We have a highly experienced, expert team of clinical colleagues who are committed to the provision of high quality NHS and private healthcare services and our ambitions are fully supported by the Trust Board in line with the expectations described within our delivery roadmap. We intend to leverage our strengths and expertise in order to identify and deliver the most appropriate services for the future of private healthcare provision and would expect a partner to bring specific benefits to the partnership in order to support these ambitions and delivery expectations. Our development will include a solution for the provision suitable estate in order to support the provision of world leading private patient services and this will be a key element of the proposal and partnership arrangements. We are looking for a partner(s) who hold the same ambitions, vision and ideology as NUH and who are able to bring areas of innovation, expertise and support to the private patient model over the term of the partnership arrangements. We are specifically looking for partnerships where there is an equal share of value and would be particularly interested in more innovative models of partnership than those traditionally associated with joint venture type approaches. Our intentions are to explore the development of a number of high priority private patient services particularly those linked to clinical areas where we have regional and national clinical expertise. We intend to focus on the provision of Cancer pathways including surgery, cardiology and other complex surgery where support from critical care is required. We will look to focus on our specialised services in order to align with the Trusts overarching strategy but would also consider other options such as maternity where there is felt to be clinical, strategic and commercial opportunity.
