Tender description
Nottinghamshire County Council (The Council) sought tenders from providers of residential care home services for adults, wishing to join a Framework Agreement for the provision of short term assessment beds for adults. The framework will be available for any relevant public body to utilise within Nottinghamshire, including the following: — NHS Bassetlaw CCG, — NHS Mansfield and Ashfield CCG, — NHS Newark and Sherwood CCG, — NHS Nottingham North and East CCG, — NHS Nottingham West CCG, — NHS Rushcliffe CCG. This project also included the procurement of care home beds by Nottinghamshire County Council on a block funded basis under 4 Lots. Providers must be successful in their bid to join the Framework Agreement in order to be considered for award of a call-off lot contract. Short term assessment facilities are a developing model of care which maximises the potential for recuperation and recovery and optimise holistic well-being, with the shared reablement ethos of providing the right care; at the right time; in the right place. They also facilitate timely hospital discharges and help to avoid unnecessary hospital admission. Through this framework the Council will commission beds within residential care homes for adults, specifically to enable people who need a short period of care away from their own home, to have the best opportunity of returning home. As the delivery of personal care is included in the specification, care homes must be appropriately registered with the regulatory body, the care quality commission. Inclusion on the framework does not guarantee the commissioning of any work with a provider. The Framework Agreement will be established for an initial term of 2 years, with an option to extend for a further period of up to 2 years.
