Supply of Specialist North Atlantic Deep Water Reef Habitat & Species Analysis & Reporting Services

Tender description

At present a requirement exists for a suitably qualified benthic scientific team to provide services in support of delivery of an Irish deep water reef habitat mapping scientific programme in 2 Lots. Tenderers are invited to bid for one or more Lots. Service requirements include; LOT A • Analysis of and reporting on HD video and still imagery data collected during a 2018 deep water reef habitat study offshore Ireland, using Marine Institute’s ROV Holland I. Analysis includes preparation of a species list and I.D. catalogue, and reporting shall include preparation of a comprehensive GIS database. The survey was undertaken during a 21 day period, and 119 hours of video were acquired during 52 separate dives, extending along 121 kms of bottom recording. Service delivery will be in accordance with the service specification detailed in Section 4. • Onboard participation of experienced deepwater benthic scientist to support collaborative field study in mid-summer 2019, extending ROV deep water reef habitat mapping coverage to the southern extent of the Irish EEZ. Expertise is required to contribute to in-situ data quality control, data analysis and reporting. The survey is anticipated to be for a 21 day duration, including mobilization, transits and demobilization. Onboard personnel must hold valid STCW-95 compliant sea survival and ENG11 compliant offshore medical certification. LOT B • Analysis of and reporting on 2019 acquired HD video and still imagery data, including preparation of a species list and I.D. catalogue, and preparation of a comprehensive GIS database. Service delivery will be in accordance with the service specification detailed in Section 4. Tenderers are invited to bid for the work specified herein, and a contract up to the 31st May 2020 will be awarded to the winning tenderer. A draft copy of this contract can be found in Annex 3
