Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council wishes to commission a supported living service for up to 3 people in a newly refurbished 4 bedroomed property in Rhydding, near Neath, where the support for this new service will involve delivering a customised package of care support to individuals in line with their assessed needs. See Section II.2.4) Description of the procurement for further details. Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council wishes to commission a supported living service for up to 3 people in a newly refurbished 4 bedroomed property in Rhydding, near Neath, where the support for this new service will involve delivering a customised package of care support to individuals in line with their assessed needs. The contract will be for a period of 3 years with the option to extend by a period or periods of up to a further 24 months. As the service is new, there will be no TUPE requirements. Transforming learning disability services remains a key priority area for the Council where the authority continues to change the way it delivers support by adopting more flexible, contemporary models that focus on independence, choice and control for those having support. This means placing people in models that better suit their needs and engaging positively with providers that can deliver support in way that is consistent with this agenda. This transformation work is ongoing and will involve the commissioning of a wide range of new innovative models and services over coming years, and in meeting this need, the Council welcomes providers who are confident and able to deliver support in a way that is consistent with these principles.
