Based on this criticality of EirGrid’s business a highly reliable service is expected. EirGrid’s business operates right across the island of Ireland, often in remote locations, so a robust and a resilient, reliable mobile phone service with a strong coverage profile is a critical enabler for day to day operations and development of the Power System across the Ireland. The successful Tenderer will have a robust Mobile Network underpinned by comprehensive service assurance arrangements. The key features of a mobile telephony service that EirGrid requires are: 1. A highly available and reliable service 2. Excellent coverage throughout Ireland 3. Excellent coverage within EirGrid’s office buildings 4. A pricing plan that delivers value for money and includes a technology fund 5. Excellent support arrangements While MVNO – Mobile Virtual Network Operator, are in scope they need to provide a clear transparent service offering which will be evident through their responses within the scope document. EirGrid intends to establish a single supplier framework agreement. The framework agreement period will be for an initial duration of three years with the option to extend annually for up to an additional two years, subject always to the satisfactory performance of the supplier.
