The new crematorium site will provide a landscape, which the public will find peaceful and attractive. It will be divided to provide a mix of features including: — areas for cremated remains, — peaceful garden areas to fit in with a woodland walk to the burial grounds, — a traditional lawn burial area, — a separate children’s burial area. The scope for the Crematorium project is expected to include the following elements: Crematorium Building containing: — circular chapel area with additional balcony providing circa 120 seated capacity, — welcome/waiting area, — crematory hall with capacity for 2 No. cremators, — viewing room, — office areas. Administration building containing: — an office space for the Cemetery Officer to receive visitors and handle administrative work, — fully accessible toilet facilities, — a reception area incorporating a waiting room, — café areas for general visitors, — function space for post burial/cremation events, — gathering shelter, — minimal, low-impact out.
