Tender description

Southern Water has a complex network architecture that has grown organically over a number of years. Current contacts covering the delivery of the various elements of the network services are due to expire in early 2020 and Southern Water is intending to appoint a new Network Services Provider, in mid 2019. This new partner will be responsible for producing and implementing a new network design and for delivery of all network services following implementation. This activity will seek to develop a Framework Agreement to cover the services outlined in section II.2.4 below. Key requirements will include: capability in network design and implementation; value-for-money of network services; performance (including network availability, and resilience, management and resolution of issues, changes, requests and problems); CMBD accuracy. The estimated release of the tender is March 2019, when additional information will be provided. Southern Water has a complex network architecture that has grown organically over a number of years. This new partner will be responsible for producing and implementing a new network design and for delivery of all network services following implementation. This activity will seek to develop a Framework Agreement to cover the following services: — production and implementation of a new network design (including a new MPLS), in order to: simplify Sothern Water’s current network; improve resilience and performance; and, replace legacy technology, — establishment of network connectivity to 2 new colocated datacenter environments (located within 1 hundred miles of Southern Water’s head office in Worthing, Sussex), — transition of responsibility for provision, operation, support and management of Southern Water’s current networks from existing service providers, — on-going end-to-end service provision of the following: —— the Wide Area Network comprising of WAN connections (and including an MPLS) to the Southern Water sites and its third party provided, collocated, datacenters, —— component support (e.g. firewall and switches).
