Wootton Vale House Extracare Scheme is a purpose built retirement living community with on-site care and is owned by Bedford Pilgrim Housing Association (bpha). It is located on Fields Road, Bedford MK43 9SQ and is made up of 33 one bed and 22 two bed flats – 55 in total. Wootton Vale House Extracare Scheme is predominantly for people who are 55 years and older. In addition, it also caters for people, on occasion, who are 45 years and older with low level learning disability or mental health needs subject to approval by a panel. Service Users over 65 years with learning disability needs are supported by the Adults Learning Disability Team (ALDT) whilst those with mental health needs are supported by the East London Foundation Trust (ELFT). The level of need for occupants will be one third low level, one third medium level and one third high level.
