Each of STW and DVW awarded a contract to replace Private Wires. BT have announced that all low bandwidth private wire services will cease March 2020. All low bandwidth private wire services will cease in March 2020 and STW and HD (formally DVW) existing private wires are directly affected by the service withdrawal. The connections are primarily used for point to point communications between sites to allow direct control and automation, from booster stations to reservoirs for example. These sites do not require significant bandwidth but do require a reliable stable service. Lot 1 is to supply semi-ruggedised end point Broadband/mobile router devices with SIMs. Each of STW and DVW wish to award a contract to replace Private Wires.
