Subject to contract. The aim of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to notify the market of the MOD's potential requirement for a Base Inventory Management Information Service (BIM IS). Overview: The aim of the project is to replace the MOD’s existing domain specific Base Inventory Management (BIM) applications with a single, modern BIM Information Service supporting all domains (Land, Air and Maritime (excluding munitions)). BIM IS will need to support: 1) Approximately 3 000 user accounts; 2) Approximately 1 800 000 UK NSNs. Provision of the BIM IS will include the following: 1) Delivery of a new BIM IS; 2) Configuration, implementation and ongoing support for the BIM IS; 3) Support to business change activities; 4) Integration to existing MOD logistics applications via Authority Middleware; 5) Roll-out (software and service implementation) and data migration; 6) Support to training activities; 7) Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) compliant service management and service management for 2nd and 3rd line support 24/7 operation, with MOD providing 1st line support. Out of Scope: 1) MOD shall use its existing data transformation service provider; 2) Deployed inventory management is not applicable; 3) The MOD shall provide hosting on an MOD accredited, JSP 604 compliant, UK-based data centre with 99,8 % availability. MOD is planning to host a “Market Engagement” event by end of Q2 2019, date, time and location to be confirmed.
